Brødrene Aa has announced the delivery of yard nr 268, the carbon fiber structure of Palmer Johnsons 48m Supersport Yacht. Normally, Brødrene Aa delivers complete high speed passenger vessels, but in this project the yard has produced the carbon fiber structure for the new Palmer Johnson 48m Supersport yacht. The structure is now to be shipped to Palmer Johnson’s yard in the United States for further outfitting and finalizing. The 48m carbon fiber structure makes an impressive view on the fjord. Oceania Marine acquires shipyard properties

News of two major property acquisitions by Oceania Marine has just been released. The properties are located at Port Whangarei in New Zealand. These acquisitions, comprising of over 8 hectares of land and extensive buildings, elevates Oceania Marine to one of the larger shipyard operations in the Pacific region. Directors, Martin and Shannon Gleeson, issued a joint statement: “We are pleased to confirm that we have purchased the freehold of our shipyard property. This, combined with the signing of a long lease for another shipyard facility, located close by, ensures that our company has long term security as well as the ability to significantly expand the services that we offer.” The combined property holdings consist of 8.4 hectares of land and 19,699m2 of building floor…

The impressive 82.3 metre superyacht Secret has been delivered by Abeking & Rasmussen. Burgess who placed the build order, told SuperYachtTimes in December that this closely guarded ‘secret’ was commissioned for experienced owners. Exterior design is by Sam Sorgiovanni and a stunningly elegant interior has been conceived by Jim Harris, the long-time designer of the owners, who was also responsible for the much lauded interior of their previous yacht, a 61.2m Feadship named Secret. Edmiston has commissioned the construction of a spectacular new 57 metre Feadship. Designed by Eidsgaard Design, the keel laying has just taken place in Holland. The exterior of this impressive sailing yacht was designed by Berret Racoupeau and the interior comes from the boards of Rhoades Young. With an LOA of 22.07 m and a beam of 5.63 m, Bougainville is a special project for the way she incorporates the very latest technologies and most advanced yacht building methods. The keel is fitted with an hydraulic lifting system, giving the yacht a depth of 2.30 m and 3.90 m, respectively. Heesen Yachts has announced that Galactica Star, the revolutionary 65m FDHF (Fast Displacement Hull Form) all-aluminium motor yacht, has successfully completed trials in the North Sea and exceeded the top speed demanded by contract by almost two knots! The vessel left the Heesen Yachts facility in Oss on Saturday, 11th May and sailed some 150 kilometres, at an average speed of 10 knots, on the Maas river to Merwehaven (Rotterdam harbour.)
