Southern Wind, South African based shipyard launched the SW 110 RS Thalima at the end of January. The shipyard along with Farr Yacht Design, and Nauta Design have been commissioned by the new owner for the third time to construct a yacht.

Farr Yacht Design took charge of the hull line and sail designs, while Nauta Design styled the interior and exterior.

The interior of Thalima follows a traditional lay-out, as with most Southern Wind sailing yachts. The galley, crew quarters and guest cabins are located in the stern, while the saloon, dining area and VIP cabin are situated in the center. The owner's cabin with private study, walk-in wardrobe and bathroom are towards the front. The saloon features a seating area to port, dining area to starboard and moving forward, taking the stairs down there is a second seating area with a large TV.

Nauta Design styled the interior with its typical knack for innovative solutions that provide clean lines and luminous spaces that are also warm and welcoming. The owner was quite pleased with the final result even though he comes a more traditional background.

Thalima will be exhibited in September at the 2010 Monaco Yacht Show.
