According to the award citation, "in view of the particularly high quality of the nominations . . . the utmost consideration was given to the selection of the finalists . . . ."

Northlander has a steel hull and alloy superstructure, with a flying bridge, main-deck owners' suite, and four guest cabins and crew quarters below. At 38 metres LOA and 330-tonne full-load displacement she is the largest Moonen ever built. She is among seven nominees in the "Best Displacement Motor yacht of below 500GT (30m to approximately 49.9m)" category.

Her exterior is shaped by René van der Velden Yacht Design, with naval architecture by Stolk Marimecs. She has a spacious general arrangement and impressive contemporary interior by Art-Line Interiors.

Phoebe, the first of a new line of 99-foot Moonen speedsters created by popular demand after the success of the "94 Alu," is among eight yachts nominated in the "Best Semi-displacement or Planing Motor Yacht in the 30m to 39m size range" category. MCA-certified, she is also shaped by Stolk Marimecs and René van der Velden Yacht Design, and has a refreshing Rhoades Young interior. She is driven by Caterpillar C-32 ACERT diesels driving Servogear Controllable Pitch Propellers in tunnels. Her lightweight Sealium hull and composite mast and Bimini assure 26-knot top speed.

After voting by 15 judges-all of them superyacht owners plus two industry professionals-the winners will be announced at the Boat International Media gala in London on 22 May 2010.
