Croatian Design Firms Showcase their new Project 'Shining'

January 14, 2010

Croatian design firms 2Pixel Studio and Navtec Marine have developed and completed their first joint project entitled 'Project Shining.'

This 63 meter semi-custom superyacht has been styled and decorated by 2pixel's main designers, Doblanovic and Raunic. The two designers both studied at one of Italy's prestigious industrial design universities and then worked under reputed Italian yacht design studios. They have now settled back in Croatia to start their own studio.

The semicustom yacht reaches speeds up to 20 knots and will accommodate 12 guests and 20 crew members.

Vast open air deck surfaces will be the centerpoint of this new design, and are where the designers have derived the name 'Shining.' Large windows and glass walls will add to the feeling of vast open space.

The main deck houses the main saloon, galley, dining room and cinema. There is a large VIP apartment with its view on the outside pool area and luxurious interiors. The next deck is for the owners, and with a spacious bedroom, bath complex, lounge area, private dining room, office, and gymnasium, there is little left to be desired.

All four decks are connected through the main circular staircase and elevator for quick access to the decks on all levels. Located inside the bilge are storage rooms, laundry, ballast tanks and an engine room that extends to the lower deck. The lower also holds the garage for two 7 meter power boats and even a car.

Sabdes 72.5m superyacht design for Icon Yachts

 January 14, 2010

The design is a collaboration between ICON Yachts of The Netherlands, built upon their optimized 62m-77m platform design and Sabdes Superyacht Developments. The 72.5m Axebow has dramatic Exterior Styling by Scott Blee (of SABDES), as well as a customised Interior Arrangement for all the Owner and Guest areas. Further design customization remains with choices for the Helideck location, Bow and Transom types, and different general arrangement. The optimized platform designed by Icon allowed Sabdes significant design freedoms while benefiting from a repeat effect through using standard hull modules, technical systems and spaces, and standard crew and service areas. The benefits translate in cost, and time savings.

The ICON 72.5m Axebow Motoryacht is exceedingly spacious owing to an 11.4m (37'5") beam and five deck levels. Its provocative exterior is a progression on Sabdes’ 50m Axebow design- the extra size allowed them to integrate many new features such as a touch-and-go helideck atop the Bridge, and a twin-tender compartment and enclosed mooring deck forward.

Bray Yacht Design's Ocean 100 Motoryacht

 January 12, 2010

The Ocean 100 Motoryacht is the latest in our hybrid series. This vessel also features diesel-electric propulsion and is designed for family cruising or chartering. The spacious accomodation has plenty of  room for entertaining and relaxation. Her specs speak for themselves, with a 4500 mile range at 10 knots, a top speed of 16 knots, and positive stability to 160 degress of heel. This is a go-anywhere yacht with style to match her substance.

This super fuel efficient, semi-displacement hull form has been extensively tank tested to ensure superior seakeeping and powering characteristics. It is a conically projected double chined hull with wide spray knocker, flared bow, and integral swim step/transom stern. The hull is longitudinally framed for maximum strength and ease of construction.

Advanced technology appendages, including a bulbous bow, fixed/active stabilizers, and a bi-foil under each propeller, are the features that make this vessel unique. In addition these features give the vessel superior seakeeping ability as will as having double the range of stability of other vessels.

Fernando de Almeida Yacht Design unveils plan for 92ft motor yacht

 January 11, 2009

Fernando de Almeida Yacht Design has recently revealed plans for a 92 foot motor yacht. The design of the yacht includes a semi-displacement hull for moderate speeds, economical operation and long range.

It is also equipped with twin 1,000hp engines that can reach a top speed of 19 knots and has a range of 950nm at 15 knots, or up to 2000nm at 8 knots. The back of the engine room has the crew quarters with two double bunk cabins, a head with separate shower, crew mess, laundry and storage room.

The design priority was to maximize the external areas, as the boat is intended to cruise warm tropical waters. The stern platform, aft deck and fly bridge are uncluttered and spacious. The tenders are stored on the fly bridge deck and measure about 14 meters in length and 5 meters in width. The fly bridge also features a Jacuzzi, sun bathing and sitting areas, bar and steering station.

On the inside, the dining area and saloon are surrounded by a glass superstructure that provides a spectacular view of the sea. The bridge deck features a comfortable elevated settee.

The full beam master suite has a separate entrance. The suite also has a king size bed, sofa, desk and sufficient storage space.

There are three additional guest cabins, two of them with double beds and one with single beds.
