Check out the 2009 World Billfish Series schedule and standings at www.worldbillfishseries.com. The top ten anglers in each of the eight billfish divisions will receive an invitation to the WBS Grand Championships.
In other Billfish news, the IFGA along with several other organizations will be generating an aggressive campaign to ban the sale and importation of billfish in the United States. Many of the world’s billfish species are in bad shape, and the IGFA will be using every available angle to get marlin and sailfish out of U.S. grocery stores and restaurants.
Right now the United States is the world’s largest importer of billfish (swordfish not included).
